Prayers from Holy Spirit Fraternity

Hi ladies

My Friend Sherrie who almost died last year due to an infection that ran rampid through her body had to go to the emergency room this morning because she has not been feeling well and her surgeon insisted she come. Her sister Tefta just told me she is sleeping and her blood pressure is very low. We are all very worried about her and I am asking you to please pray for her and add her to your prayer lines.

Thank you

Love
Kim

Hi Pat, I just had a call from dear Lorraine Young's daughter.  Lorraine is in Bridgeport Hospital and in Intensive Care, and not doing too well.  She is having difficulty breathing.  She believes her time is limited.  The one thing she wanted was her Franciscan community to pray for her.  So thank you for putting her on the Franciscan prayer line.  I will put her on my prayer lines so that she is well covered.  God bless her, and God bless you, and thank you.  Love, Barb

Pray The News - 10/18/14

Pray The News

Because we are sons and daughters of God, saved by Jesus and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we do not merely read the news but make the news. We direct the course of world events by faith expressed in action and intercession. Please pray for the stories covered in this paper. Clip out this intercessory list and make it part of your daily prayer.
  • We pray that we will spread the Gospel with joy.
  • We pray for all missionaries to receive encouragement and support.
  • We pray for an end to war, violence, and persecution.
  • We pray for persecuted Christians, especially in Iraq and the Middle East.
  • We pray for employment opportunities for all, especially young people.
  • We pray that all people will be treated with respect and dignity.
  • We pray in thanksgiving for Mother Mary and Mother Church and that we will be docile.
  • We pray that tourism may promote development and understanding.
  • We pray that we will be peacemakers.
  • We pray for an end to abortion, euthanasia, and all attacks on life.
  • We pray for the victory of the civilization of life and love over the culture of death.
  • We pray that we would follow Jesus ever more closely through the intercession of St. Francis of Assisi and St. Terese of Lisieux.
  • We pray that we will be generous and share our resources with others.
  • We pray for World Mission Day to lead to many conversions.

> I know I've spoken to several of you today, but bear with me as I repeat the details for everyone. Pat had a CT Scan last night to try to determine where the bleeding was coming from. It did  not show anything conclusive -- no broken ribs, etc. The source of the bleeding seems to be her stomach and a nasal tube is still in place to drain the fluid. It is becoming less and less. Most importantly, at about 1 p.m., they were able to remove the tube from her windpipe after determining that she could breath on her own.  When we left the hospital at 2 p.m., she was in a lot of distress because of the mucous that had accumulated in her throat and was being given breathing treatments and suctioning as needed.  Hopefully, that will improve this afternoon.
>
> So, our prayers continue to hold Pat up. She remains in the ICU and there are many additional obstacles, so keep the prayers coming.  Tim has been remarkable through it all, keeping all the details in his head, sharing information with the doctors and nurses involved with her care. He's a great advocate for Pat.

My son, Tim, has requested prayers for his friend Robbie who is very sick and in ICU with an infection.
Thank you.
God Bless!
